What is baptism?
An outward picture of an inward change.
Baptism does not save us—Jesus does. Baptism is a one-time act that publicly identifies us as followers of Jesus and shows that we belong to Him.
Being lowered into the water and raised again pictures our union with Jesus in His death, burial, and resurrection. It is a simple, powerful way to say, “My old life is gone. My new life is in Christ.”

Who should be baptized?
Anyone who has trusted Jesus.
You do not need to have your whole life figured out before being baptized. Baptism is not a declaration that you are perfect—it is a declaration that you have repented, believed, and chosen to follow Jesus.

Does baptism save me?
No. We are saved by God’s grace through faith in Jesus. Baptism is an act of obedience that follows salvation and publicly shows what Jesus has already done in us.
Why does Berean baptize by immersion?
The New Testament word for baptism means to immerse or submerge. Immersion also gives us a vivid picture of being united with Jesus in His death, burial, and resurrection.
What if I was baptized as a baby?
We are grateful for parents who desire to point their children toward God. At Berean, baptism follows a person’s own decision to trust Jesus. If you were baptized before making that decision, we would be glad to talk with you about believer’s baptism.
Do I need to be perfect or know everything first?
Not at all. Baptism is not a finish line or a claim of perfection. It is an early step of obedience for someone who has repented, believed, and wants to follow Jesus.
What happens after I fill out the form?
